Sarah, Sarah, Sarah... storms are brewing in your eyes.
That's a lyric from an old song by Starship, but it currently holds true for Sarah Palin in light of the jokes made by David Letterman recently.
During his Top ten list, Letterman poked fun at Palin's cosmetics practices with the word "slutty" involved in his schtick.
When seeing this and knowing who said it, I thought...Oh boy! Here we go, the righties will be all over this one.
Lighten up people.
Would Palin rather have Letterman call her a MILF? Probably not, I'm guessing. Anyone who has seen the movie "American Pie" knows that would have been far worse.
There's an old saying, "If you can't take the heat, then get out of the kitchen". I think Palin should heed that advice. Politicians are going to get skewered by the media, comedians, etc. on a continuing basis.
It seems that certain people can dish it out, but they can't take it.
Bullies, which is an accurate way to describe many right-wing pundits, tend to be very thin skinned. Palin seems to fit right in regarding this description.
Remember last fall on the campaign trail?
Palin was railing on then Presidential candidate Barack Obama and there were numerous people shouting obscenities, racial slurs, even shouts of "kill him" when Obama's name was mentioned was heard at times. There were also people with little toy stuffed animal monkeys that had Obama's name attached to them at these rallies.
This is all mild compared to what has happened recently with the wave of violence by twisted, sick minded right-wing extremists.
This sort of thing needs to be stopped immediately before someone else is murdered.
What's next, some wacko coming after Letterman or Wanda Sykes after her recent roasting of Rush Limbaugh?
People watch comedians such as Letterman to "escape" the everyday grind. Comedy relief is what they call it.
Again, lighten up people.
We, as American citizens, cannot put up with this kind of behavior. If it is tolerated, it will simply lead to more violence.
Point is to not take yourself so serious. That goes for any of us. Especially people who step onto the stage of national politics.
So, again Sarah Palin, if you cannot take the heat, then get out of the kitchen.
