CPAC In A Nutshell

That goofy looking golden statue of Trump they rolled out at the CPAC in Orlando, Florida this weekend?

Now I know where they got the idea for the design of it and I think the creator of that thing might want to send some residual money to Big Boy restaurants if it is sold. Actually, I was looking for the "golden shower" Trump statue to make an appearance, complete with flowing piss running down all over it.

 ðŸ˜‚😂

It never ends with these people.

This would be perfect for the Trump statue - A burger in hand.

Hodge Podge Of Topics

It has been way too long since a Sunday Hodge Podge has been posted on this site, so here goes . . .

Why is it the main stream media in this country refuses to call out the twice impeached and disgraced former President Donald J. Trump for the problems he helped to cause or else enhanced (such as the COVID-19 pandemic) during his tenure?

Trump is still facing investigations in Georgia for the phone calls he made to the Secretary of State there to "find" over 11,000 votes to help him win that states' electoral vote count during the recent presidential election as well as the SDNY looking into his taxes and finances on the state level in New York. So again, why is it all "crickets" from the media in this country regarding those areas?

The media chooses to talk about other politicians and political topics with all the "he said, she said" nonsense and gossip that goes along with that type of fluff. Distractions is all that is. What the hell does QAnon conspiracy theories and Alex Jones type nonsense have to do with the real meat and potatoes of the corruption of the Trump Administration for four years?

Regarding Texas and the winter storms that have crushed that state in recent days due to lack of planning and the stubbornness of the states' political leaders, all it seems they have for the citizens there is "thoughts and prayers" as usual. Not to mention Ted Cruz and his idiotic actions.

However, U.S. House Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (Democrat from New York) is doing, not just talking when it comes to helping provide real relief for the suffering people in Texas. As in millions of dollars raised for the relief efforts.

You go girl!

Why is it the Republican party is so quick to give away trillions of dollars in tax breaks for the richest one percent and corporations in the United States of America (see Trump tax cuts passed by the GOP led House and Senate in December of 2017), but when it comes to giving money to the rest of the people living in this country, they suddenly complain about the budget deficit they helped create with said tax breaks and claim it is too much to allot 1.9 trillion dollars for what President Joe Biden is proposing to help the American people?

Hypocrites.

The USA is still the worst country in the world when it comes to the pandemic (thanks to Trump's terrible response to it all) and the death toll is about to go over half a million people since last February. However, things are improving with the vaccine rollout that was a complete joke when it started under the former Trump Administration. (Never, ever again allow that idiot anywhere near Washington, D.C. politics).

On the subject of the pandemic, it is sad to hear that New York Governor Mario Cuomo is now taking heat for covering up death tolls in nursing homes in that state. Terrible situation and for good reason the media has been all over him for that in recent days. But again, the question has to be asked as to why the same media is NOT holding Trump accountable for the damage he did in lying about the seriousness of the COVID-19 virus a year ago? The same can be said about Trump toadies, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who has been misleading people about the death toll and number of COVID-19 cases in his state since the pandemic started a year ago.

Also on the subject of the pandemic, professional and college sports should think twice before allowing spectators into stadiums to view the games people play. The fallout from the Super Bowl is just now beginning to be seen, but of course the numbers will most likely be skewed because Super Bowl LV was held in Tampa, Florida, the state where accurate COVID-19 numbers cannot be trusted. Any fool knows that.

As spring time nears and a long and cold winter will finally give way to better weather, let us remember what it was that President Biden said back during the debates held with Trump about this country facing a long, dark winter regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. He was honest about it and that has borne out since then. It is indeed refreshing to have honesty and accountability back in the White House once again.

Never forget the January 6th insurrection by Trump supporters on the nation's capitol. No matter how hard the Republicans in D.C. try to spin things and deflect responsibilities for what happened, we all saw it with our own eyes. Trump is guilty of inciting that crowd to do that evil. Period - end of discussion.

And finally, radical right wing political talker Rush Limbaugh died this past week.

No Surprise

So 43 gutless Republican U.S. senators voted not guilty on the impeachment of Donald J. Trump earlier today and that is no surprise.

The fix was in and millions of alert Americans know this fact.

Trump's legal woes are just beginning and he will be sorry he was ever born once the legals cases mounted up against him are finished in the near future. So yes, the impeachment process did what it could to convince the 43 cowards on the republican side, but to no avail.

People, do not let this decision own you. I am already seeing on Twitter and other social media outlets all the outrage and that is to be expected in the heat of the moment. Fact is Trump will have to face the music in state courts and the charges waiting for him there.

Donald J. Trump is a criminal and the majority of Americans know this. The next step is up to the voters in the states of the complicit criminals that voted to acquit Trump of the charge of incitement of insurrection. It's as simple as that.

Any sane person is aggravated at the decision in the impeachment trial in the U.S. Senate and for good reasons. The thought here is Trump will not be much of a factor because his name is mud and he and his ilk were soundly defeated in the last election.

Anything he touches, he destroys. He destroyed a ton in our country during the four years he was in office and he is currently destroying the republican party. So fear not people because Trump himself has been banned from Twitter and he doesn't have "presidential immunity" from criminal charges any longer.

Oh yeah, almost forgot too that Trump is an old man in his mid-70's and will likely be dead before the next presidential election in four years.

In the meantime, I'm backing Joe Biden and the ongoing plans he has for our country for the next four years. Elections have consequences and Biden is the President of the United States of America now.

Onward and upward.

This Is Serious Business

Here we go again.

The republican party, along with certain media outlets (Fox "News" the chief among them) are already beating the drums and repeating over and over and over and over and over (you get the point) that the impeachment trial of Donald Trump isn't even legal according to constitutional standards.

Phooey!

Keeping it very simple and completely blowing any argument out of the water that the trial of twice impeached and disgraced former President Donald J. Trump isn't constitutional comes down to this . . .  Trump was the sitting President of the United States of America when he was impeached in the U.S. House of Representatives last month.

Period. End of discussion.

Now, get your popcorn ready and let the constitutional process begin.

And if the republicans in the U.S. Senate have any kind of spine, they will vote to convict Trump for the charge he faces of inciting an insurrection against our country last month. It's doubtful that will happen, but at least this trial will resemble what it is supposed to be about. Unlike last year when the republicans held the majority in the senate and former leader Mitch McConnell wouldn't allow any witnesses in the first impeachment trial, this time there will be witnesses and plenty of them.

But as the headline in this post reads - THIS IS SERIOUS BUSINESS and should be treated as such.

What happened in the nation's capital on January 6th, 2021 should never be forgotten and must be taken seriously. Certain people who consider themselves to be Americans are attempting to downplay the whole thing and ignore the fact at least six people died in the coup attempt. The people that took part storming the capital must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and that includes Trump, the ring leader of it all.

Think about this for a long minute. What U.S. President gives a speech in front of the White House in early January to a raucous crowd while the process of finalizing the Electoral College vote is being conducted just up the street?

That right there was a huge, red flag for all to see.

Words have meaning and he knew what he and his cohorts were up to when they called those people to D.C. on that day. Even a number of law enforcement people were in on it, evidenced by the videos and images seen since the attack happened. Hell, they were even seen opening the barrier gates to let those traitors into the capital.

We all know what happened and have seen those videos and images of the idiots doing what they did and the asshole known as the twice impeached and disgraced former President of the United States was watching it on television as it all unfolded. Well, the coup attempt failed and now he and all of the people involved will face the consequences.

Senate democrats must make it happen and not back down from their mission to bring Trump and his enablers to justice.

As it has been said and is in fact the truth, there can be no unity in this country without justice.

Period. End of discussion.

After all, this is serious business.

SUPER BOWL RECAP - Buccaneers Rout Chiefs For The Title

Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady and the Buccaneers celebrate big win.
Call this one the Super Bore.

Unless, of course, you are a fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who dismantled the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs, 31-9 to win Super Bowl LV on Sunday evening.

Kansas City scored first on a 49-yard field goal in the first quarter by Harrison Butker, but then it was all Tampa Bay from there as quarterback Tom Brady hooked up with tight end Rob Gronkowski twice on touchdown passes of eight yards and 17 yards and later hit wide receiver Antonio Brown on a one-yard scoring pass with only six seconds left in the first half for a 21-6 lead at the break. For the game, Brady completed 21 of 29 pass attempts for 201 yards and three touchdowns to earn the Most Valuable Player award in the game.

The Buccaneers defense kept up constant pressure throughout the game on Kansas City QB Patrick Mahomes, who was playing behind a depleted offensive line ravaged by injuries, as they built a 31-9 lead after three quarters. Bucs running back Leonard Fournette rambled 27 yards for a touchdown to make it 28-9 with 7:45 remaining in the third stanza. Meanwhile, Mahomes was sacked three times and managed to pass for 270 yards on 26-of-49 passing accuracy. The Buccaneers gained 340 total yards in offense in the rout.

The rest was just a formality as the Buccaneers defense dominated the normally potent Chiefs offense and Brady and company rode off with the Vince Lombardi trophy on their home field. The Chiefs were flagged for eleven penalties totaling 120 yards in the loss, but that was just a side note as they were thoroughly dominated in the game as Mahomes was intercepted twice by the Tampa Bay defense, which also held Kansas City without a touchdown in the game.

Congratulations to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers  - Super Bowl LV Champions!

SUPER BOWL LV Preview

Super Bowl LV kicks off late Sunday afternoon in Tampa, Florida and the Kansas City Chiefs will defend their title against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and some guy named Tom Brady playing quarterback. Perhaps you have heard of him.

After all, the guy many consider the GOAT of NFL quarterbacks will be seeking his seventh Super Bowl title (along with three setbacks also among the other nine he has played in) at his home field called Raymond James Stadium. It marks the first time a team will be competing in the Super Bowl on their home field.  But the Chiefs are favored in this one and with good reason.

The Kansas City offense was tops in the league in yardage per game (425.3) and has averaged 303.4 yards passing per game while also averaging 29.6 points per game. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes continues to be his brilliant self as he has overcome foot injuries as well as the league concussion protocol in recent weeks. The Chiefs are stacked with three good runners (Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Darrel Williams and Le'Veon Bell) and also the best tight end in the NFL with Travis Kelce. Throw in  wide receiver Tyreek Hill and also Mecole Hardman, Sammy Watkins and Demarcus Robinson and there you have it. Watkins has had a calf injury and could be a game time decision while Robinson is going through procedures for COVID-19 along with offensive lineman Daniel Kilgore after they came into contact with a person who tested positive for the virus earlier this week.

On the Buccaneers side of things, Brady needs no further introduction and he has thrown for over 40

Mahomes and Brady meet again.

touchdowns this regular and post-season while the team has averaged 30.7 PPG in the process. Brady has multiple weapons on offense as well with running backs Ronald Jones and Leonard Fournette and also wideouts Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Antonio Brown and Scott Miller, although Brown has been sidelined in recent weeks with a knee injury. Tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Cameron Brate are also in the mix. The Bucs average 401.7 yards per game, including 276.3 passing yards per game.

The Tampa Bay defense rates a slight edge as they have been getting after it in the playoffs, including forcing turnovers and sacking opposing quarterbacks. Linebacker Shaq Barrett had three sacks against Green Bay in the NFC Championship Game two weeks ago. The Chiefs also have some play makers on defense, especially the "Honey Badger" also known as Tyrann Mathieu, an All-Pro defensive back. Who knows? A turnover, especially late in the game could be the difference in the final score in this one.

A big factor will be whether or not the Buccaneers start slowly in the game, because if they fall behind by double digits to the Chiefs, it could be a long evening for them. Kansas City has shown great ability to come from behind and with Mahomes in control of things, that is definitely not a tall order for the Chiefs.

Anything is possible and these two teams went at it back in Week Twelve with the Chiefs jumping out to a double digit lead and eventually winning, 27-24 in Tampa Bay. Tyreek Hill had a huge game, so the Bucs defense will surely be looking to stop him this time around. Brady and company have been on a roll since that loss and will look to take advantage of any mistakes the Chiefs might make.

Look for a pretty close game with the Chiefs pulling away and holding off the Brady led comeback effort in the final quarter of Super Bowl LV this Sunday evening.

PREDICTION  -  Kansas City Chiefs 35, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 27
