The Dodgers swept the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Championship Series and Shohei Ohtani stole the show in the clincher with his three home runs and 10 strikeouts in six innings as the starting pitcher that has already become legendary.
Toronto really had to earn their way into the Fall Classic for the first time in 32 years. They beat out the Seattle Mariners in seven games with George Springer hitting a three-run home run to help clinch the 4-3 win in Canada. After falling behind two games to none in the American League Championship Series, the Blue Jays took two of three in Seattle and then won both games six and seven back in Toronto while outscoring the Mariners, 37-30 in the series.
As for this series, look for the Dodgers to prevail yet again due to their experience and the fact their starting pitching has been rolling in the post-season. Even their much beleaguered bullpen seems to be back in form heading into this one. The Blue Jays also boast a strong starting staff and their bullpen has been near perfect in recent weeks.
Both teams can mash the ball and in particular, Ohtani and (Toronto first baseman) Vladimir Guererro, Jr. have been leading the way for their team. Both players won the Most Valuable Player awards in the league championship series and will look to continue their torrid pace for the next week or so. All in all, this one could go either way as baseball is a funny game and anything can happen once the games begin.
