NFL - Week Three Preview
The third week of the 2010 NFL season features some key matchups as the battle of the unbeatens has Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay going at it while the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers will play at Soldier Field on Monday Night Football for control of the NFC North division.
Another intriguing game features the Dallas Cowboys (0-2) taking on the Houston Texans (2-0) where something has to give. The 'Pokes have been anemic on offense and the Texans offense has been through the roof so far in 2010.
Last week, Houston stormed back from 17 points down at Washington and eventually beat the Redskins 30-27 in overtime.
Can the upstart Texans keep it going against Dallas? We will see.
Here's a breakdown of the week's games...
Cleveland (0-2) at Baltimore (1-1)- It's the current Browns vs. the former Browns... I like the former in this one.
Cincinnati (1-1) at Carolina (0-2)- Can the Bengals repeat last week's defensive performance? Can Carolina score some points?
Dallas (0-2) at Houston (2-0)- This one seems too obvious... upset alert!
Buffalo (0-2) at New England (1-1)- See the game preview above this one... sans upset alert.
Tennessee (1-1) at NY Giants (1-1)- In week one, the Giants and Titans both won big. Last week, both of these teams were humbled in a big way... something has to give.
Pittsburgh (2-0) at Tampa Bay (2-0)- One of these teams has to lose and fall from the ranks of the unbeaten... it looks like the home team will do so.
Philadelphia (1-1) at Jacksonville (1-1)- Michael Vick... He's Back!
Washington (1-1) at St. Louis (0-2)- The Rams could (and should) win this game.
Oakland (1-1) at Arizona (1-1)- Both of these teams are starting re-tread quarterbacks. What does that say about this one?
Detroit (0-2) at Minnesota (0-2)- The Lions could be just the tonic the ailing Vikings and Brett Favre need.
Indianapolis (1-1) at Denver (1-1)- Hmmmm. Peyton Manning and the Colts or Kyle Orton and the Broncos... what do you think? I'll take Manning and the Colts. Hands Down!
Atlanta (1-1) at New Orleans (2-0)- The Saints have not exactly been "marching in" so far this season. The Falcons soared high last week in a rout at home.
San Francisco (0-2) at Kansas City (2-0)- How in the hell are the 49ers 0-2? How in the hell are the Chiefs 2-0? That's the question(s)... Take the 49ers on the road. Better defense.
San Diego (1-1) at Seattle (1-1)- Philip Rivers and the Chargers should roll in this one, even without injured rookie running back Ryan Mathews and sour puss holdout wide receiver Vincent Jackson.
NY Jets (1-1) at Miami (2-0)- The Dolphins swept the Jets last season, but that doesn't mean it's going to happen again this year.
Green Bay (2-0) at Chicago (2-0)- Can the Bears win again? The Packers running game is very suspect due to injured Ryan Grant being out for the season. Bear Down!
