Ernie Banks, one of the all time greats and best loved players in the history of Major League Baseball, died last night at the age of 83 years old.
He was referred to as "Mr. Cub" because he spent his entire 19-year career with the "lovable losers" Chicago Cubs teams in the 1950s and 1960s before retiring following the 1971 season. Banks finished with 512 career home runs and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1977.
Rest In Peace Ernie and "Let's Pay Two" today.
