It's the month of December and the NFL is headed into the home stretch for the 2015 season.
Who would have thought the Carolina Panthers would be 11-0 at this point or the San Diego Chargers would be cellar dwellers in the AFC West with a putrid 3-8 record?
The New England Patriots are coming off their first loss of the season as they look to host the suddenly hapless Philadelphia Eagles (4-7) who have been blown out in consecutive weeks while allowing 45 points in those two games. The Pats have been ravaged with injuries in the past two weeks, and may or may not have receivers Rob Gronkowski and Danny Amendola this week for Tom Brady to throw to.
A big showdown in the NFC will feature the Seattle Seahawks (6-5) playing on the road against the Minnesota Vikings (8-3 and in 1st place in the NFC North) on Sunday.
The Sunday Night Football game will have the Pittsburgh Steelers hosting the suddenly surging Indianapolis Colts, who have been doing just fine with 40-year old Matt Hasselbeck at quarterback while regular starter Andrew Luck has been out with injuries.
It should be another interesting week around the topsy turvy NFL in this 2015 season, which has been very unpredictable indeed.
The Heftyinfo predictions follow up the capsule style previews for Week Thirteen.
Houston (6-5) at Buffalo (5-6) - The Bills are tough at home, but the Texans have been on a roll of late.
San Francisco (3-8) at Chicago (5-6) - Why bother? Bears roll!
Cincinnati (9-2) at Cleveland (2-9) - Here's Johnny? Not! Manziel will be on the bench even with starting QB Josh McCown out for the year with a collar bone injury... Bengals roll!
Baltimore (4-7) at Miami (4-7) - Who cares?
Seattle (6-5) at Minnesota (8-3) - Can the slumping Seattle defense control NFL leading rusher Adrian Peterson? That will be the key to this game.
Carolina (11-0) at New Orleans (4-7) - Can the Saints pull off a miracle at home?
New York Jets (6-5) at New York Giants (5-6) - This is a road and home game for these teams, isn't it?
Arizona (9-2) at St. Louis (4-7) - What has happened to the Rams in recent weeks?
Atlanta (6-5) at Tampa Bay (5-6) - The loser of this game can pack it in for the 2015 season.
Jacksonville (4-7) at Tennessee (2-9) - The Titans have been awful this season ... the Jaguars haven't been much better.
Kansas City (6-5) at Oakland (5-6) - The Raiders still in desperate need of a win ... Chiefs have won five straight.
Denver (9-2) at San Diego (3-8) - This game could be closer than most people might think.
Philadelphia (4-7) at New England (10-1) - As long as Brady is healthy, the Pats can win.
Indianapolis (6-5) at Pittsburgh (6-5) - This is a BIG GAME for playoff position in the AFC race.
Dallas (3-8) at Washington (5-6) - The Cowboys vs. the Redskins ... this matchup isn't quite what it once was.
