Major League Baseball will finally get started with the 2020 season with a 60-game schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Players will report for practice on July 1 and the season will begin on the weekend of July 24-26 with teams playing under cautious guidelines for coronavirus.
It's a positive sign as many states have done well in the battle with COVID-19. However, there have been numerous spikes in COVID-19 cases in recent weeks in states that didn't have strict regulations in place and in fact rushed back to "re-open" their states for business.
Hopefully the games will go on and safety will be the protocol as the teams battle it out for roughly two months and then the playoffs and World Series can take place, pending of course there isn't a huge outbreak in coronavirus cases.
