They won four games to three and repeated as World Series champions with a 5-4 win in 11 innings thanks to a go ahead home run by catcher Will Smith and then pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, named the World Series Most Valuable Player, closed out the Toronto Blue Jays to finish it up.
The Dodgers became the first Major League Baseball team to repeat since the New York Yankees in the 2000 season and the first National League team to repeat since the Cincinnati Reds way back in the 1976 season.
