It's been 10 years ago today (November 1, 1999) since Walter Payton passed away. We remember "Sweetness" ... number 34 is always in the memories of Chicago Bears fans and football fans everywhere.
One of the greatest running backs to ever play the game and he was a true gentleman off the field as well. He gave me many fond Sunday memories and I still miss watching him glide into the end zone. It truly was magic and so sweet.
I am not a Bears fan and never have been, but anyone who was not a fan of "Sweetness" is either too young to remember him or not a fan of football at all. A true class act and a tragic loss. Thank you for this post and the trip down Memory Ln.
