The Thanksgiving Day games are here once again and that means that pro football is gearing up for the home stretch as the playoffs near.
It will be the traditional games in Detroit and Dallas where the Lions will play host to NFC North division rivals, the Green Bay Packers while the Cowboys face the resurgent Miami Dolphins.
The night cap on NFL Network Thursday Night Football will be perhaps the best game of the day when the San Francisco 49ers, winners of eight straight games, travel to face the Baltimore Ravens, who are in first place in the AFC North.
The Packers (10-0) and Lions (7-3) will get things started as Aaron Rodgers (pictured above right) and company continue to chase the perfect season while defending their Super Bowl crown. The Lions need to win to stay ahead of the Chicago Bears in the division race.
Dallas is on their usual November to remember tour as they have won three straight to get to 6-4 and a first place tie with the New York Giants in the NFC East.
The game between Baltimore and San Francisco will feature the brothers Harbaugh (John with the Ravens and Jim with the 49ers) stomping the sidelines as the Head Coaches for their teams in this showdown.
Expect a defensive struggle in the game between two of the better defenses in the NFL.
Following is the rest of the weekend's action in capsule form, along with the Heftyinfo picks.
Minnesota (2-8) at Atlanta (6-4) - The Falcons have NO reasons to lose this game.
Cleveland (4-6) at Cincinnati (6-4) - The battle of Ohio ... is it really worth fighting for?
Carolina (2-8) at Indianapolis (0-10) - It's now or never for the Colts to get into the win column in 2011 season.
Houston (7-3) at Jacksonville (3-7) - The Matt Leinart era begins for the Texans ... Houston, we have a problem. Jags may win this one.
Buffalo (5-5) at NY Jets (5-5) - Remember when the Bills were 4-1? Neither do I and keep in mind the Bills have been outscored 106-26 in three consecutive losses ... Jets win this one.
Arizona (3-7) at St. Louis (2-8) - The Cards used to play in St. Louis while the Rams played in Cleveland and Los Angeles before going to St. Louis. Confused? You should be with this clunker game.
Tampa Bay (4-6) at Tennessee (5-5) - The Buccaneers band wagon is getting lighter every week this season... Titans roll.
Chicago (7-3) at Oakland (6-4) - The Raiders seem to be getting a lot of fortunate breaks this season as now the Bears come into town minus QB Jay Cutler.
Washington (3-7) at Seattle (4-6) - The Seahawks are a team to be reckoned with lately... Wow!
New England (7-3) at Philadelphia (4-6) - Do or die for the Eagles every game from now on ... this week Brady & company put them out of their misery.
Denver (5-5) at San Diego (4-6) - Tebow time? Not this week as the Chargers put it together and the Broncos' LUCK STOPS HERE!
Pittsburgh (7-3) at Kansas City (4-6) - Why are the Kansas City Chiefs on in "prime time" again this week... they stink! Steelers roll.
NY Giants (6-4) at New Orleans (7-3) - This is a huge game for the Giants. Which Eli Manning will show up? Take the Saints.
