NFL - Week Five Preview

Week Five kicked off on Thursday evening in Seattle and the Los Angeles Rams knocked off the host Seahawks, 26-17 to improve to 4-1 this season in the NFC West divisional battle. Another NFC West tilt takes place this Sunday in Arizona when the unbeaten Cardinals (4-0) play the San Francisco 49ers (2-2). The Cardinals are the only undefeated team left in the NFL.

Some other marquee games feature the Kansas City Chiefs (2-2) hosting the Buffalo Bills (3-1) in the Sunday night game. A pair of 3-1 teams go at it in Los Angeles when the Chargers will host the Cleveland Browns. In another game featuring 3-1 squads, the Green Bay Packers will travel to face the Cincinnati Bengals. Meanwhile, the Chicago Bears (2-2) finally settled on rookie Justin Fields as the starting quarterback when they face the Las Vegas Raiders (3-1) this Sunday afternoon in a road game.

The action for this weekend's game are all featured in the capsule style format and the Heftyinfo picks for the games follow up.

New York Jets (1-3) at Atlanta Falcons (1-3) - (game played in London, England) - Two teams that have struggled so far this year travel to London to settle the matter. Toss up in this one.

Detroit Lions (0-4) at Minnesota Vikings (1-3) - The Vikings should roll in this game, but it is a divisional match, so expect a tighter game for the home team.

New Orleans Saints (2-2) at Washington (2-2) - This game could go either way as both teams have been up and down from week-to-week this season.

New England Patriots (1-3) at Houston Texans (1-3) - Can the host team pull off the win against the Patriots?

Miami Dolphins (1-3) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-1) - The Dolphins defense can give Tom Brady fits from time to time, but not likely to happen in this one.

Green Bay Packers (3-1) at Cincinnati Bengals (3-1) - The surprising Bengals host Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. Can young QB Joe Burrow deliver for Cincy?

Denver Broncos (3-1) at Pittsburgh Steelers (1-3) - There is no way the Steelers are starting the season with a 1-4 record.

Philadelphia Eagles (1-3) at Carolina Panthers (3-1) - Can the Panthers stellar defense keep things going? The Eagles have been spotty at best on offense so far this year.

Tennessee Titans (2-2) at Jacksonville Jaguars (0-4) - The Jags could be just the tonic the Titans need after losing to the lowly Jets last week. Jacksonville looking to snap a 19-game losing streak.

Cleveland Browns (3-1) at Los Angeles Chargers (3-1) - This game could be a defensive struggle or a shootout. Two of the better young quarterbacks in the NFL will get a test against solid defenses in this game. Toss up.

Chicago Bears (2-2) at Las Vegas Raiders (3-1) - The Raiders are coming off a beat down loss against the Chargers last Monday night and need to regroup. The Bears defense can get after the quarterback, so this game could be closer than most people might think.

San Francisco 49ers (2-2) at Arizona Cardinals (4-0) - The 49ers have dropped two in a row and the Cardinals have looked real good, especially last week in crushing the Rams on the road. Take the Cardinals.

New York Giants (1-3) at Dallas Cowboys (3-1) - The Cowboys are rolling and should get another win against a divisional foe.

Buffalo Bills (3-1) at Kansas City Chiefs (2-2) - Two high powered offenses going at it in the Sunday night tilt. Chiefs win in a squeaker.

Indianapolis Colts (1-3) at Baltimore Ravens (3-1) - Can the Ravens keep the magic going? They should in this home game against a struggling Colts team.
