HOUSTON ASTROS WIN WORLD SERIES

The Houston Astros are the World Series Champions for the 2022 Major League Baseball season. 

The Astros won game six in Houston, 4-1 over the Philadelphia Phillies to win their second title in the last six years. And it is the first ever World Series title for Dusty Baker as a manager after coming so close 20 years ago with the San Francisco Giants. 

 

Astros outfielder Yordan Alvarez hit a go ahead three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to erase a 1-0 deficit and put his team ahead by a 3-1 count. 

From there, the Astros bullpen did the rest in relief of starter Framber Valdez, who went six innings, allowing just one run (Phillies OF Kyle Schwarber home run) to keep it close until Alavrez' bomb. The Most Valuable Player for the World Series went to Astros rookie infielder Jeremy Pena.
