NFL - Week Eight Preview
The NFL season hits the halfway point for numerous teams this weekend and there are many surprise teams still atop the division races. There are also numerous disappointments throughout the league.
The Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers, both playing poorly to this point of the season, will play against each other at Wembley Stadium in London, England on Sunday. It's the annual game "across the pond" that so many teams have been involved in during past seasons.
The 49ers are a train wreck at this point with a 1-6 record and probably not much of chance to win the NFC West, which appears to be up for grabs between Seattle, Arizona and St. Louis entering this weekend.
The Broncos were lit up for 59 points by the ever improving Oakland Raiders last week. The Raiders have been the bottom feeder of the AFC West for about six years now.
Denver Head Coach Josh McDaniels is rumored to be on the proverbial "hot seat" with the team at 2-5 and playing so poorly.
Speaking of the AFC West and shoddy play, how about the San Diego Chargers at 2-5?
The Chargers lead the NFL in total defense and total offense, but because of inept special teams play and costly penalties at the most inopportune times, find themselves looking up at the surprisingly good Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs lead the division with a 4-2 record and are entering the easiest part of the schedule for the next six weeks.
The Kansas City Chiefs just might never lose another game this season the way they are going.
The Green Bay Packers limp into the Meadowlands this Sunday to face one of the best teams in the league... the New York Jets.
Also limping into action on Sunday will be the Minnesota Vikings as they travel to face the New England Patriots, who are tied for first place with the Jets in the AFC East with a 5-1 record.
Surprise! Surprise!
