What A Week

What a week it was for President Barack Obama.
The POTUS got his way on many issues before the US Supreme Court as the Affordable Healthcare Act (Obamacare) was upheld by the SCOTUS and will remain The Law of the Land!
In addition, Marriage Equality is now the law as well, thwarting the efforts of opponents to same sex marriages across the country.
The only downer this week, even though the White House deemed it a win for the United States of America, was the passage of the so called fast track for the dreaded TPP trade deal that will ship hundreds of thousands of good paying jobs here in America overseas yet again.
All in all, a good week for the POTUS and the country, however ... Love ya PBO,  but the TPP sucks!

Hardly A Surprise

With the way politics in this country is going during recent years (thanks U.S. Supreme Court and that insane citizens united decision that says $$$ is free speech and corporations are people) it would be no surprise at all if the U.S. House held a vote in the middle of the night and passed that God forsaken TPP bill that President Obama has sold out for to the big money interests.
Think about it for a moment ... the REPUBLICANS are ON OBAMA'S SIDE on this bill?

THAT IS THE ULTIMATE RED FLAG right there!!

It's simply amazing that these clowns in the U.S. Congress can't accept the will of the American people and just give up on this piece of shit trade deal that will do nothing but ship more jobs over seas and give corporations even more power to do whatever it is they want.
It bothers me to see this country's political leaders being played like puppets on a string by the Koch Brothers and others of their disgusting ilk.
When will it end?
Will it ever end?
To quote movie character Forrest Gump "Stupid is as stupid does."
These politicians are definitely stupid if they pass "fast track" authority for the TPP.
In fact, they are insane because one of the definitions of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
Hmmm . . .  remember NAFTA and then CAFTA, well here comes SHAFTA and that means saying goodbye to decent paying jobs as they are sent away to be performed by folks in third world nations doing the work for pennies (literally pennies) an hour!
This is the year 2015 and that is despicable!
Even television commercial are toting the new "Gilded Age" that America seems to be trending toward as more and more "bosses" dressed in 19th century style clothing appear on the TV screen while some oaf slaves away at their job in the background.
It just reeks of the old way of doing things and that way failed and went away.
Corporate America sucks!
But these robber barons of the 21st century want to take us back in time 200 or more years it seems to a time when suffering was abound and people worked for starvation wages.
Hopefully the American people will burn up the telephone lines to their representatives in the U.S. House and tell them NO WAY TPP once again as they did recently and this crap will fail again and go away forever.
I doubt it will ever go away, but there is always the hope that it will.
We can only hope so.
The future of the United States depends on it failing in Congress.

American Pharoah Wins Horse Racing Triple Crown

Finally!
For the first time in 37 years, horse racing has a triple crown winner as American Pharoah won the Belmont Stakes today to complete the "triple crown" of horse racing with wins in this race along with the Preakness Stakes (three weeks ago) and the Kentucky Derby five weeks ago.
The last time a horse won the triple crown was in 1978 when Affirmed did it just one year after Seattle Slew won the triple crown.
So American Pharoah ends the drought.
He's no Secretariat, but congratulations on the accomplishment.

The NBA Finals

It will be the Golden State Warriors, the team with the best record in the NBA this past season, taking on the Cleveland Cavaliers, led by Lebron James, who is appearing in his fifth consecutive NBA Finals.
The fun begins tonight in California and should be an interesting series with this season's NBA Most Valuable Player Stephen Curry leading the way for Golden State.
Cleveland will be without forward Kevin Love (out for the duration of the playoffs with injuries since the first round) and may also be missing guard Kyrie Irving as well.
The Warriors have one of the best offenses in the NBA while Cleveland can grind it out with stellar defense and of course with James leading the offense, can never be counted out.
However, everything has been falling into place this year for the Warriors, including having their nemesis, the 2014 NBA champion San Antonio Spurs, being knocked out in the opening round of the playoffs by the Los Angeles Clippers.
James is a great player, but he will not be able to carry the Cavs and as a result, they will fall short in the NBA Finals,  just as they did with "King" James back in the 2007 finals against the Spurs.
Look for the "splash brothers" (Curry and Klay Thompson) to do their thing from three point range while the supporting cast chips in to give the Warriors their first title in 40 years.

PREDICTION  -  Golden State Warriors win the series in FIVE GAMES.
