Hey America, Happy Fourth of July From The Oil Companies

Just in time for the Fourth of July weekend, the oil companies decide to stick it up Americans' asses once again and jack up the price of gasoline (on the average) 33.5 cents in one shot.
Why even bother lowering the prices at all you fucking morons. The oil companies are nothing but scumbags who continually screw the hard working people of this country.
They are completely useless and should be investigated by Congress for price gouging on this all-American holiday that we celebrate.
Happy Fourth of July!

Bye Beck, We Hardly Knew Ya'

Good riddance!
Glenn Beck is going off the Fox "News" Channel and not a moment too soon.
This guy has been a complete tool for the hard core right wing agenda that is hell bent on ruining the United States of America as it has been known to a majority of the population that resides here.
He has called President Obama "racist" among other things.
When this guy was on CNN several years ago, he actually talked about relevant issues. But one day he got in his mind to sell out and go hardcore outrageous righty and moved over to Fox and the rest is history.
And now, Glenn Beck is history.
And America's television airwaves will be better off.
See Ya!

Summertime!

My curfew was lightning bugs. My parents didn't call my cell, they yelled my name. I played outside with friends, not online. If I didn't eat what mom cooked, then I didn't eat. Sanitizer didn't exist, but you COULD get your mouth washed out with soap. I road a bike without a helmet. Getting dirty was ok, and neighbors cared as much as your parents did. Re-post if you drank from a garden hose and survived!!!
When I saw this posted on facebook,  I remembered the simpler times of the summer season growing up and had to re-post it.
It's summertime once again and the 4th of July is right around the corner. Fireworks.. picnics... backyard BBQ cookouts, ball games, fishing trips, camping, etc.
You cannot beat summer and the best thing is it is just getting started.
Here is hoping everyone enjoys themselves and takes the time enjoy the season this year. Read a good book, doing some basic yard work like gardening or whatever.
Get out there and enjoy folks!

NFL 2011- Will They Or Won't They?

With the NFL owners continuing the lockout of the National Football League Players' Association, fans are wondering will there or won't there be  NFL Football this season when September 2011 rolls around?
There have been rumblings of "progress" in recent talks between the owners and players' representatives. That's the good news.
However, there are many factors that still point to a lockout continuing into late July or even into August, which would cut into training camp dates.
Teams need the time to prepare and that will have an effect on the action, at least in the earlier part of the season, if and when they settle this.
Here's hoping they get it done quick and we who love the game can look forward to more excitement come this fall.
After all, game winning touchdowns are more exciting than bargaining sessions and boring legal jargon that results from those negotiations.

Nearly 70 Years Later And This Is Where America Is At

With the way the Republicans are carrying on, you'd think they throw nickels around like they are manhole covers.
They spent like drunken sailors when George Bush, Jr. was in the Oval Office but now that Barack Obama is President of the United States, they want to save and cut the budget and throw the elderly off Medicare and gut Social Security so that people have to scrounge and come crawling to the likes of Mr. Potter (remember the old goat miser in "It's A Wonderful Life"?) OR to put it in current times, come crawling to their corporate masters.
Well, I'm with George Bailey (Jimmy Stewart in the accompanying clip below) and I will not bow to these scumbags and their idealism about how they envision the future of the United States of America.
Republican Mitch McConnell (Senate MINORITY leader from Kentucky) and GOP House leaders Eric Cantor (Virginia) and Paul Ryan (Wisconsin) and of course, House speaker John Boehner (Ohio) could care less about the American people.
Why?
Because they lick the corporate boots and that's all they are about.
They are also backed by a bought and paid for U.S. Supreme Court and the five right wing ideologues that continue to screw the American worker with the asinine decisions that do NOTHING for the United States of America.

Anyway, I've said enough...

Check out the two minute clip below and envision Old Man Potter as the Republicans and Jimmy Stewart as George Bailey playing the role of the American people.

Think about it.

Father's Day Memories

This will be a different post on the site as I remember Dad through the years, including today... Father's Day in the year 2011.

Going back in time, to my childhood and growing up through the years, to remember Father's Day.
First recollection was 1970, a hot and sunny day and we had a trip to Grandparents place to celebrate the day with a big dinner.
There were picnics and other family get togethers as well throughout that decade.
As a child, life is always much simpler, isn't it?
I remember back in 1977, a family celebration and a trip later that evening to the drive in movies (remember those you older readers?) to see a double feature, including Ron Howard's "Grand Theft Auto", a stinker movie not anything like the video game of the same name that kids play today.
As life went on and the older brothers went on their way and started families of their own, the Father's Day get togethers were less emphasized.
Instead of the big gatherings, it became a backyard barbecue with Dad doing the grilling of course. Dad always enjoyed having a few cold beers and on Father's Day, it was a part of his day as well as he grilled in the backyard.
In fact, after my Grandfather (on Mom's side of the family) died in 1976, the bigger get togethers were not common anymore on Father's Day.
In the 1980's, it translated into a brief hello with Dad and giving him the traditional Father's Day card and a small gift, which was not a tie or anything else stereo typical of the Father's Day gifts we all see on the TV ads.
The decade of the 1990's was indeed different on his day as Mom had passed away in 1993 and now it was a trip to Dad's to visit him and take him to dinner. Dad had retired shortly after Mom's departure and he moved away from the Chicago area for retirement.
Through the years since then, my brothers and I visit Dad on his day and have the dinner and visit with him.
Today will be different as Dad, now 79 years old and having health issues, is in the hospital for today's visit.
It will be different indeed, as Dad has always been one to avoid the doctor's office and especially hospitals.
It's a blessing to have healthy parents that we can visit and help out as they get along in years as we go through life.
Here's hoping the tradition continues in my family as well.
So today, on Father's Day, here is a special shout out to all the Dad's out there.
"Happy Father's Day", and enjoy it because it is a special day with the only father you have.

This Guy Wants To Be A U.S. Senator Again?

George Allen, a republican from Virginia who lost the 2006 election to Jim Webb (D) for the United States Senate seat, is looking to sneak back into the U.S. Senate.

Virginia voters beware!

Remember this...

That's right... the "macaca" moment.

Keep this clown far away from the U.S. Senate.

U.S. Congressman Anthony Weiner Resigns

Hey, how did those David Vitter photos get in there?

Nothing quite like DOUBLE STANDARDS when it comes to the political scandals process in the United States Congress.

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker Signs His Own Marching Papers

The bought and paid for Wisconsin State Supreme Court (remember the farce that happened in April in that state in the judicial election) today ruled that Scott Walker's controversial anti-union labor law can go into effect.
Walker signed his own marching papers and will be recalled next January by the good people of Wisconsin.

Book It!

The One That Started It All

Michele Bachmann can thank Chris Matthews' Hardball political show on MSNBC for her rise to political stardom.
Back on October 17, 2008, Matthews interviewed the loony congress woman from Minnesota and the rest is now history.

Way to go, Chris Matthews...

Dallas Mavericks Finally Win NBA Championship

The Dallas Mavericks beat the Miami Heat, 105-95 to win the NBA Finals in six games.
It's the first NBA championship in team history for Dallas as Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Terry (only two hold overs from the 2006 team that fell to Miami in six games in NBA Finals) led the way.
Nowitzki, who averaged 26 points per game and just under 10 rebounds a game in the NBA Finals, was named the Most Valuable Player for the series.

Congratulations to the Dallas Mavericks... the 2010-11 NBA Champions.

On June 12, 1991, the Chicago Bulls won their first ever NBA championship, beating the Los Angeles Lakers, four games to one to win it.
Michael Jordan was named the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player.
Meanwhile, the supporting cast of Scottie Pippen, John Paxson, Horace Grant and Bill Cartwright helped along the way in the first title of six overall NBA titles for the Bulls.

Democratic Party Leaders Calling For Weiner Resignation

SEX SELLS!
So now Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and Nancy Pelosi are leading the charge by the Democratic party to force U.S. House representative Anthony Weiner (D- NY 9th District) to resign from the House?
You wouldn't see the GOP doing that.
In fact, when U.S. Senator David Vitter was busted for soliciting prostitutes (including from the U.S. Senate floor ON THE TAXPAYERS' DIME) he didn't resign and was given a standing ovation by fellow Republican senators when he returned to the Senate.
Last week, Heftyinfo declared that Weiner should resign (and he probably will eventually) from the House like Chris Lee (Republican from NY- 26th District) did.
But the way people are piling on this guy is ridiculous and smacks of the double standard that allows the GOP to get away with the sleaze like Vitter committed last year.
Enough already!
When Vitter announces his resignation, then so should Anthony Weiner.
But don't bet on that happening.
Double standards... double standards ... double standards.
That's what this is and I defy anyone to declare otherwise.
The "mainstream" news media, which is corporate controlled, needs to get back to real issues and stories and investigate why all of these unethical bozos in our nation's capitol are continuing to fawn a debate on a budget for this nation.
C'mon man!
Leave the Weiner man alone already and report the real news.
Press the GOP (and blue dog Democrats) as to why they want to continue to lick the corporate boots and ignore the interests of the people of this great nation of ours.
As for the leadership of the Democratic party, grow a spine already.

Anthony Weiner Is A Weiner... But Breitbart Is Still A Loser

Shame on you Anthony Weiner, you need to resign just like former U.S. House Representative Chris Lee (Republican-NY 26th District) did after his "racy" photos hit the internet.
The U.S. House Representative from New York's ninth district lied, just as did blogger Andrew Breitbart when he misled people with an altered video tape he created of a member of the Obama Administration last year that caused much embarrassment for that person at the time it was released.
There are no winners in this recent episode as the public gets duped once again and a right wing political hack continues to go unscathed.
The fact that Heftyinfo chided Breitbart for his sleaziness in the matter regarding the Weiner photos will remain unchanged.
It just goes to show where this country of ours is regarding politics.
Here's an idea ... how about the news media (including bloggers on the internet) tell the news and not just spew out ideology.
Speaking of which, republican Rick Santorum, a former U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania, tossed his hat in the presidential race for 2012.
And that is no joke, unlike Breitbart's crap and right wing propaganda that misleads people and adds nothing to solving the real problems we in the United States have these days.

Andrew Breitbart Is A Loser

The title to this brief post says it all.
The corporate shill named Andrew Breitbart (pictured right) who is a right wing neo-con type blogger and has ZERO credibility, gets attention from all the lemmings that follow Fox "News" Channel's lead in promoting this clown.
Beside possibly Michelle Malkin, what other blogger gets as much attention on cable TV news shows than Breitbart?
None. Zip. Nada.
The fact is the right wing corporate media gives this guy undeserved attention as he spreads falsehoods and rumors over the internet.
This guy is a hack who licks the corporate boots.
His latest concoction is about U.S. House Representative Anthony Weiner (D-NY, 9th District) who was the victim of a computer hack who sent Weiner's photo out on twitter.
Hacked accounts on twitter are fairly common and for Breitbart to run with this hoax shows just how desperate the right wing is to avenge the idiot from New York's 26th District that had to resign his U.S. House seat recently.
That seat was won last week by a Democratic candidate for the first time in 40 years because the GOP candidate supports Paul Ryan's Medicare killing budget plan.
The people of New York's 26th District, a heavy Republican district at that, spoke.
Loudly!
Back to Breitbart, who last year altered a video tape that caused all kind of controversy on the blogosphere and eventually wound up on, of course, Fox "News" Channel.
The woman in the tape was a member of the Obama Administration and she was attacked viciously as a result of Breitbart's "creative" editing of the tape and lies.
This Breitbart clown is a complete and utter disgrace and has ZERO credibility.

Even Jim Carrey agrees...

What a pathetic loser!
