NFL - Week Six Preview

What looked to be a marquee match between two of last season's best teams and overwhelming favorites to battle for the chance to get to the Super Bowl is now instead a battle for survival in Week Six as the Dallas Cowboys take on the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday.
Both teams are 1-3 and have been real disappointments to this point in the 2010 NFL season.
Brett Favre might not play in this one as a result of tendinitis in his elbow. Meanwhile, Cowboys' quarterback Tony Romo has been erratic in the early going.
There are other games this weekend that appear more important than the Cowboys at Vikings game. The Baltimore Ravens, who many consider to be the current front-runners to win Super Bowl 45 in February, travel to take on the New England Patriots, who are off to a fast start and now begin the rest of their season without wide receiver Randy Moss.
How about the Atlanta Falcons, at 4-1 and leading the NFC South, traveling to play the Philadelphia Eagles, who are sitting atop the NFC East at 3-2 along with the New York Giants and surprising Washington Redskins?
A sneak peek at the 14 games slated for this weekend follows...

Dallas at Minnesota - Who would have thought these two squads would be 1-3 at this point? Someone has to win or maybe the game could end in a tie.

Seattle at Chicago - How 'bout those 4-1 Chicago Bears? How 'bout those 2-2 Seattle Seahawks?

San Diego at St. Louis - The Chargers lead the NFL in total offense, tied for first in total defense and have the most points scored in the league ... so why are they 2-3 entering this game? Turnovers and sloppy special teams play. Beware the Rams!

Atlanta at Philadelphia - No Michael Vick once again this weekend as his former team comes calling in the city of brotherly love. Most Philly fans will be concentrating on the baseball playoffs this weekend as the Phillies host the San Francisco Giants.

NY Jets at Denver - The Jets continue to fly high early this season. Will they crash and burn in Denver? Don't count on it.

Oakland at San Francisco - The 49ers have to win a game some time this season, right? The Raiders were very fortunate to beat the Chargers (for the first time in seven years) last week.

Kansas City at Houston - The host Texans still smarting from the beat down they suffered to the NY Giants last week. Don't look for the Chiefs to do the same to them.

Cleveland at Pittsburgh - Browns' rookie QB Colt McCoy gets his first start... Welcome to the NFL Colt! And welcome back "Big Ben"... the Steelers roll in this one.

Detroit at NY Giants - The Giants have been playing "lights out" defense the last two games, which they won by the way. The Lions are improving, but no chance this weekend.

Miami at Green Bay - Will Aaron Rodgers play for the Packers, who have been decimated by injuries this season?

Baltimore at New England - When the Ravens smoked the Pats last season in the playoffs, NFL Network analyst Deion Sanders said that New England QB Tom Brady looked like "hot garbage." Will the Patriots get revenge and show they are still a top team in the AFC? There is a good chance they win this game.

New Orleans at Tampa Bay - The Saints couldn't possibly lose to the Buccaneers a second straight time could they?

Indianapolis at Washington - The Colts, much like the Saints, simply do not look like the same team we have been accustomed to seeing on the field. What's wrong?

Tennessee at Jacksonville - The Jags are on a mission ... to save Head Coach Jack Del Rio's job.

Here are the selections for Week Six... (Home teams are listed in bold)

Green Bay over Miami (only if Aaron Rodgers plays)
