NFL - Week Three Review

Quick Hits -  The New England Patriots continued to roll in the early part of the season as they squashed the Jacksonville Jaguars, 51-17 . . . Atlanta continued to surprise going to 3-0 with a come-from-behind 39-28 win at Dallas . . . Seattle got it's first win this season with a 26-0 shutout of the Chicago Bears, limiting the Bears to just 146 total yards in offense . . .  A trio of wide receivers had huge days this week as Steve Smith (Baltimore Ravens) had 13 receptions for 186 yards and two touchdowns - A.J. Green (Cincinnati Bengals) made 10 grabs for 227 yards and two scores and Julio Jones (Atlanta Falcons) had 12 catches for 164 yards and two touchdowns.



TOP RUNNERS - Adrian Peterson (Minnesota Vikings) 126 yards and two touchdowns . . .  Chris Johnson (Arizona Cardinals) 110 yards and two touchdowns . . . Latavius Murray (Oakland Raiders) 139 yards and one TD . . . Devonta Freeman (Atlanta Falcons) 141 yards and three TD . . . Joseph Randle (Dallas Cowboys) 85 yards and three TD . . .  Ryan Mathews (Philadelphia Eagles) 108 yards and one score.

Notable events from Week Three in the NFL -  Pittsburgh Steelers' QB Ben Roethlisberger was injured (knee) and will likely be out 4 to 6 weeks . . .   The Chicago Bears were shut out for the first time since the 2002 season . . . LeSean McCoy (Buffalo Bills RB) injured his hamstring and will likely miss next week's game vs. the New York Giants . . .  San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick threw two "pick six" interceptions in his first two passes of the game in a 47-7 blowout loss to Arizona . . .  The Chicago Bears dealt defensive players Jared Allen and Jon Bostic to Carolina and New England, respectively, today for future draft choices  . . .  Five winless teams got their first taste of victory . . .  Seven teams remained unbeaten and four teams are still winless, including the Baltimore Ravens, who started a season 0-3 for the first time in team history since they relocated from Cleveland prior to the 1996 season.
