History In Chicago

History was made on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 as Lori Lightfoot became the first black woman elected as Mayor of Chicago as she crushed challenger Toni Preckwinkle.
Both women are black and members of the Democratic party, but it was all Lightfoot in this election as she had 74 percent of the vote with 83 percent of the precincts reporting.
