Random Topics

Here we are approaching the Memorial Day holiday once again and it is time to reflect on some random topics.

Haven't done this for quite some time, but then again as far as politics goes, there hasn't been a whole lot of drama from the White House. At least not since Joe Biden became president. And thank God for that.

It seems the Republican party continues to dwell on the past and refuses to acknowledge the wrong doing of former president Trump and his misdeeds for four years, especially the insurrection and coup attempt in our nation's capitol on January 6th of this year. Trump still banters about that he was robbed and is still the POTUS as the election was a fraud, etc.

Yawn.

This guy seems to think his shit doesn't stink and he can do and say whatever he pleases. Trump is still delusional and likely will be until his dying day. The 75 year-old man/child just does not get it and neither do his loyal followers, both political leaders and private citizens.

Mitch McConnell, the minority leader from the republican party in the U.S. Senate, wants everyone to just forget about what happened on January 6th when the Trump fanatics and psychopaths stormed the U.S. Capitol which resulted in the deaths of at least five people, including a capitol police officer.

Sorry Mitch, but you are in the minority and your word does not carry the clout it did a few months back when your party had the majority. The news media may fawn over your word and Trump's incoherent babblings still, but the rest of the people in the U.S.A. have moved on. We don't care about your recklessness and especially not Trump's either. You two are like a couple of broken records.

Enough already.

As for Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert, the newest psycho sisters from the republican party (replacing Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin), they continue to drone on about how bad things are for people in this country.

Yawn.

Talk about clueless. Greene and Boebert make Alicia Silverstone and company's characters from the 1995 movie look downright intelligent regarding that matter.

And then there is Matt Gatez, who is accused of having sex with minors and sex trafficking young girls as well. How in the hell is this guy still allowed to be a U.S. House representative? Then again, he is from Florida, the state that has Ron DeSantis, another psychotic republican, as their governor.

Seems Forrest Gump was spot on regarding certain people who vote for these politicians . . .  Stupid is as stupid does.

Turning to sports, the NBA Playoffs are in full swing and once again LeBron James is leading the Los Angeles Lakers to what appears to be another NBA title. It is early in the post-season, but the Lakers seems to have found their groove following injuries to James and fellow star player Anthony Davis. They will be tough to beat.

The NHL Playoffs are also rolling along and the Colorado Avalanche and Boston Bruins are looking solid so far. The Toronto Maple Leafs, Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning, which is the defending Stanley Cup champions, are all in the mix as well. Hockey season is too long, but best of luck to these teams still competing.

Lastly, here is hoping everybody has a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend holiday. It is deserved after all the people in this country have been through since last year's debacle with Trump and the COVID-19 pandemic, which appears to finally be waning.

Thank you President Biden for a realistic view of things regarding this topic and getting things done so responsible people can get the vaccine and live a (somewhat) more normal life once again.

God Bless America.
