NFC Championship Game Preview

On Sunday in Philadelphia, the Eagles will host the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game.

The Eagles have been flying high all year and had the best record in the NFL (14-3) during the regular season, led by quarterback Jalen Hurts and a high scoring offense. The defense has been tremendous as well, boasting a league leading 70 quarterback sacks in the 2022 season. They also have a ball hawking secondary that knows how to make things happen by creating turnovers.

But the 49ers will not be intimidated at all as they have league's best defense in yardage and scoring. They can bring the pressure as well and they had the second best rushing defense in the regular season. On offense, San Francisco has many weapons and the quarterback play has been stellar since Brock Purdy took over late in the season when both Jimmy Garoppolo and Trey Lance (injured in September) went down for the count.

This game should be a hard hitting affair with both teams holding their own on the defensive front. A lower scoring game would not be a surprise at all with turnovers likely deciding the winner in this one. Anything can happen and usually does when the NFL post-season gets going, but the two top seeds in the NFC are here and this game should be close.
