OUTRAGEOUS

Let's say that someone was drinking alcohol and got behind the wheel of a vehicle and ran into and killed two members of your family due to being drunk while driving that vehicle.
Then when you go to court for the case, you find out your relatives were killed in vain because the judge rules the evidence inadmissable for whatever "legal" bullshit they want to concoct because they are protecting one of their own.
The cop was not given a breath test for drunk driving until over seven hours later.
You would be outraged as would anyone with any form of sanity.
Take a case in Chicago involving a drunken cop that ran into and killed two people on Thanksgiving in 2007.
The "judge" in this farce did just what was explained above, in a sense then gutting the prosecution's case against the drunken cop which resulted in today's case being dropped against "one of Chicago's finest".
The prosecution had to drop their case because they had no evidence as a result of this judge's asinine decision.
This was the same judge who threw a case out against other cops in the Windy City as well.
Seems they were being charged with excessive battery in an altercation at a drinking establishment.
Go figure.
Then there was the case that drew nationwide attention a few years ago when a drunken off duty Chicago cop was caught on videotape pummeling a petite bar maid BEHIND the bar.
She refused to serve his sorry drunken ass any more booze and he became angry and beat her senseless.
He got probation for the case in court and then skated away after a violation of his probation was being brought to light.
It seems if you're a cop in Chicago (or for that matter pretty much anywhere) you have carte' blanche' and can get away with anything.
That is bullshit.
People have to tow the line, whether they are a police officer, a judge, lawyer, business executive, etc.
There should NOT be a double standard in our court systems in the United States of America.
But there is no doubt as evidenced by these court rulings pointed out above.
It's the system protecting it's own is what it is and that is pathetic.
Here is a suggestion for the family members of the two young men killed by this drunken cop in 2007.
File a civil lawsuit against said drunken cop and hopefully justice will be served this time around.
As for the current system when it comes to judging cops who get in trouble with the law. . .
Outrageous!
