NFL - Week Twelve Preview

It's time for the annual Thanksgiving Day football games again.
Every year the NFL has a game hosted by the Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys (every season since 1978 for the Cowboys) with the "night cap" game added in recent years.
This year, the Lions will host the Philadelphia Eagles while the Cowboys will play the undefeated Carolina Panthers. The night game will feature the Chicago Bears at the Green Bay Packers in a NFC North division tilt.
The legendary quarterback Brett Favre will have his number 4  retired in a ceremony, which is expected to be attended by another Packers legend, as none other than Hall-of-Fame quarterback Bart Starr will be on hand.
It should be quite a day of football on Thanksgiving and then the usual round of games (as the NFL returns to a full slate of 16 games weekly now that every team has had their "bye" week) on Sunday and Monday Night Football.

The Heftyinfo predictions follow the capsule style previews for all of the action.

Philadelphia (4-6) at Detroit (3-7) - The Lions have begun to roar again in recent weeks while the Eagles have been grounded.

Carolina (10-0) at Dallas (3-7) - The Panthers have the look of a true Super Bowl contender.

Chicago (4-6) at Green Bay (7-3) - Brett Favre back in Lambeau for a retirement ceremony ... Packers roll!

Minnesota (7-3) at Atlanta (6-4) - The Vikings had a hiccup (at home) last weekend. The Falcons have been reeling after a hot start.

St. Louis (4-6) at Cincinnati (8-2) - The Bengals looking to end a two-game losing streak against Rams backup QB Case Keenum ... Take the Bengals.

New Orleans (4-6) at Houston (5-5) - Two teams headed in opposite directions.

Tampa Bay (5-5) at Indianapolis (5-5) - Surprise!  The Tampa Bay Bucs win again.

San Diego (2-8) at Jacksonville (4-6) - What's this? The Jaguars in playoff contention? How about that!

Buffalo (5-5) at Kansas City (5-5) - This game has the makings of a good, old fashioned brawl.

Miami (4-6) at New York Jets (5-5) - Flip a coin in this one.

Oakland (4-6) at Tennessee (2-8) - Raiders desperately need a win.

New York Giants (5-5) at Washington (4-6) - The loser of this game is STILL in contention for the NFC East title.

Arizona (8-2) at San Francisco (3-7) - The Cardinals seem to be on a mission.

Pittsburgh (6-4) at Seattle (5-5) - This game should go down to the wire.

New England (10-0) at Denver (8-2) - The Sunday Night Football game has lost a lot of luster due to injuries for both teams.

Baltimore (3-7) at Cleveland (2-8) - Two woeful teams on Monday Night Football ... Yawn.
