NFL - Week Three Review

Without a doubt, the top performances of the day in Week Three of the NFL had to be Philadelphia Eagles' quarterback Michael Vick [pictured left] who passed for 291 yards with three TD and 30 yards rushing (including a 17-yard scoring run) and Seattle's Leon Washington, who returned two kickoffs for touchdowns to single-handedly beat the San Diego Chargers, 27-20.

The pair are Heftyinfo NFL Player of the Week for Week Three as the Eagles toppled Jacksonville, 28-3 and Seattle improved to a surprising 2-1 in the young season with their win against the Chargers, who once again are off to a slow and disappointing 1-2 start.

Chargers' quarterback Philip Rivers threw for 455 yards and two touchdowns in the defeat, but he also threw two interceptions and the Chargers lost three fumbles as well. Hard to win football games when a team does that. Still, it took a goal line stand of sorts by the Seahawks' defense as they twice held the 'Bolts out of the end zone in the final three minutes to win the game.

How about the Pittsburgh Steelers and fourth string quarterback Charlie Batch routing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 38-13 on the road?
Pittsburgh's defense was dominating and Batch threw a pair of touchdown passes to Mike Wallace and running back Rashard Mendenhall had 143 yards rushing and a touchdown.

The Dallas Cowboys finally got into the win column as they pasted the Houston Texans, 27-13 behind solid defense and Tony Romo passing for 284 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Atlanta handed the New Orleans Saints their first loss of 2010 with a 27-24 overtime win on a 46-yard field goal by Matt Bryant. Saints kicker Garrett Hartley missed a 29-yard potential game-winner just moments earlier to give the Falcons new life. Both teams are tied with Tampa Bay for first place at 2-1 in the NFC South.

The Baltimore Ravens looked lackluster but managed to beat the winless Cleveland Browns, 24-17 in the home opener in Baltimore. Joe Flacco found Anquan Boldin for two touchdown passes as the Ravens improved to 2-1.

The Cincinnati Bengals kept pace with Pittsburgh and Baltimore by topping the listless Carolina Panthers, 20-7. Cedric Benson ran for 81 yards and scored two TDs to lead the way.

The Minnesota Vikings rode Adrian Peterson (160 yards rushing, two TD) as he broke free on an 80-yard scoring run to seal the game in the 24-10 win over the Detroit Lions.

Tennessee embarrassed the host New York Giants, 29-10 behind Chris Johnson (125 yards rushing and two TD runs) to improve to 2-1. The Giants slipped to 1-2 with the loss.

The Colts knocked out the Denver Broncos, 27-13 as Peyton Manning threw for 325 yards and three TD passes, including two scoring strikes to Austin Collie. Denver quarterback Kyle Orton passed for 476 yards in the loss.

The Kansas City Chiefs stayed unbeaten and seem to be this season's version of the 2009 Denver Broncos with their surprising start. The Chiefs throttled the visiting 49ers, 31-10 behind a solid running attack and a defense that completely shut down the San Francisco offense.
San Francisco quarterback Alex Smith was sacked five times and KC quarterback Matt Cassel threw three TD passes to go with 207 rushing yards by the Chiefs.

Arizona survived Oakland, 24-23 as Raiders' kicker Sebastian Janikowski missed his third field goal try of the game (from 32 yards out) as time expired.
Cardinals' quarterback Derek Anderson had two touchdown passes in the win.

St. Louis won their first game of the season, 30-16 over the Washington Redskins as kicker Josh Brown kicked three field goals in the fourth quarter to put the game away. Rams' QB Sam Bradford had a TD pass and running back Steven Jackson ran 42 yards for a score to pace the offense.

New England knocked off stubborn Buffalo, 38-30 as Tom Brady hooked up with Randy Moss twice for scoring passes to offset Bills' rookie C.J. Spiller's 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. The Bills started Ryan Fitzpatrick in the game in place of Trent Edwards, who was released by the Bills following the game.

In the Sunday Night Game, the New York Jets improved to 2-1 with a 31-23 victory at Miami.
The Dolphins, Jets and Patriots are all tied for first place in the AFC East.
Jets' quarterback Mark Sanchez has three TD passes and threw for 256 yards in the win while running back LaDainian Tomlinson scored a touchdown and ran for 70 yards. Braylon Edwards hauled in a scoring pass and Tight End Dustin Keller (six catches for 98 yards) had two touchdown catches to pace the Jets.
Miami QB Chad Henne passed for 363 yards and two touchdowns. Dolphins' wide receiver Brandon Marshall had 10 grabs for 166 yards and a touchdown.

The Monday Night Game saw the Chicago Bears beat Green Bay, 20-17 at Soldier Field in Chicago. Devin Hester ran a punt back 62 yards for a touchdown and Robbie Gould nailed a 19-yard field goal in the closing seconds for the Bears, who improved to 3-0.

On a sad note, Hall-of-Fame player George Blanda, who played for 26 seasons between the NFL and AFL from 1949-1975, died Monday at the age of 83. Blanda scored 2002 points in his career as a quarterback and place kicker with the Houston Oilers, Chicago Bears and Oakland Raiders.

NFL - Week Three Preview

The third week of the 2010 NFL season features some key matchups as the battle of the unbeatens has Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay going at it while the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers will play at Soldier Field on Monday Night Football for control of the NFC North division.
Another intriguing game features the Dallas Cowboys (0-2) taking on the Houston Texans (2-0) where something has to give. The 'Pokes have been anemic on offense and the Texans offense has been through the roof so far in 2010.
Last week, Houston stormed back from 17 points down at Washington and eventually beat the Redskins 30-27 in overtime.
Can the upstart Texans keep it going against Dallas? We will see.
Here's a breakdown of the week's games...

Cleveland (0-2) at Baltimore (1-1)- It's the current Browns vs. the former Browns... I like the former in this one.

Cincinnati (1-1) at Carolina (0-2)- Can the Bengals repeat last week's defensive performance? Can Carolina score some points?

Dallas (0-2) at Houston (2-0)- This one seems too obvious... upset alert!

Buffalo (0-2) at New England (1-1)- See the game preview above this one... sans upset alert.

Tennessee (1-1) at NY Giants (1-1)- In week one, the Giants and Titans both won big. Last week, both of these teams were humbled in a big way... something has to give.

Pittsburgh (2-0) at Tampa Bay (2-0)- One of these teams has to lose and fall from the ranks of the unbeaten... it looks like the home team will do so.

Philadelphia (1-1) at Jacksonville (1-1)- Michael Vick... He's Back!

Washington (1-1) at St. Louis (0-2)- The Rams could (and should) win this game.

Oakland (1-1) at Arizona (1-1)- Both of these teams are starting re-tread quarterbacks. What does that say about this one?

Detroit (0-2) at Minnesota (0-2)- The Lions could be just the tonic the ailing Vikings and Brett Favre need.

Indianapolis (1-1) at Denver (1-1)- Hmmmm. Peyton Manning and the Colts or Kyle Orton and the Broncos... what do you think? I'll take Manning and the Colts. Hands Down!

Atlanta (1-1) at New Orleans (2-0)- The Saints have not exactly been "marching in" so far this season. The Falcons soared high last week in a rout at home.

San Francisco (0-2) at Kansas City (2-0)- How in the hell are the 49ers 0-2? How in the hell are the Chiefs 2-0? That's the question(s)... Take the 49ers on the road. Better defense.

San Diego (1-1) at Seattle (1-1)- Philip Rivers and the Chargers should roll in this one, even without injured rookie running back Ryan Mathews and sour puss holdout wide receiver Vincent Jackson.

NY Jets (1-1) at Miami (2-0)- The Dolphins swept the Jets last season, but that doesn't mean it's going to happen again this year.

Green Bay (2-0) at Chicago (2-0)- Can the Bears win again? The Packers running game is very suspect due to injured Ryan Grant being out for the season. Bear Down!

NFL - Week Two Review

After two weeks of the 2010 NFL season, the unbeatens include the Chicago Bears, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Pittsburgh Steelers, New Orleans Saints, Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins and Green Bay Packers.
The Bucs, Chiefs and Bears are the biggest surprises after their 2-0 starts. The Dallas Cowboys are 0-2 as well as the Minnesota Vikings and Carolina Panthers.
The Bears knocked off the Cowboys, 27-20 in the Dallas home opener as Jay Cutler passed for 277 yards and three touchdowns in perhaps his best performance as Bears' quarterback.
The Buccaneers are 2-0 after popping the Carolina Panthers, 20-7 as their defense squashed the vaunted Panthers' running game. In addition, the Tampa Bay defense sacked Panthers' quarterbacks four times. Bucs' QB Josh Freeman threw two TD passes in the victory.
The Kansas City Chiefs went to 2-0 with a 16-14 squeaker at Cleveland as Ryan Succop kicked three field goals and the defense scored the touchdown for Kansas City.
The Minnesota Vikings are struggling along with quarterback Brett Favre as they lost, 14-10 to the Miami Dolphins. Favre was intercepted three times and also lost a fumble in the end zone that the Dolphins recovered for a touchdown.
The New York Jets got back on track as they dominated the New England Patriots in the second half of a 28-14 win. Quarterback Mark Sanchez threw for three touchdowns and the Jets' defense contained Pats' QB Tom Brady.
Pittsburgh beat Tennessee, 19-11 as the defense forced seven turnovers while limiting Titans' running back Chris Johnson to just 34 yards rushing and the special teams did the rest as Jeff Reed kicked four field goals and Antonio Brown took the opening kickoff back for a touchdown in the win.
The Houston Texans stunned the host Washington Redskins with a huge comeback win as quarterback Matt Schaub, the Heftyinfo NFL Player of the Week, had three touchdown passes and 497 yards passing in the 30-27 overtime victory.
Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb threw for 426 yards in the loss as Washington managed only 18 yards rushing for the game.
Green Bay blasted Buffalo, 34-7 behind Aaron Rodgers (255 yards passing, two TD passes and a rushing touchdown) and Clay Matthews, Jr., who had three quarterback sacks for the second straight week.
The New Orleans Saints rallied back for a thrilling 25-22 win on Monday Night Football as Garrett Hartley kicked a 37-yard field goal as time expired for the win. Saints quarterback Drew Brees had two TD passes and the defense recorded a safety for the game's first score that proved to be vital to the outcome of the game.
Saints running back Reggie Bush was injured in the game and may be sidelined anywhere from four to six weeks. San Francisco running back Frank Gore had a touchdown reception and also scored on a 7-yard run to go with 112 yards rushing in the loss.
The Atlanta Falcons got it going in their home opener with a 41-7 pounding of the Arizona Cardinals. Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan threw for three scores while racking up 225 yards through the air. In addition, the Falcons' defense intercepted three passes.
Speaking of interceptions, Jacksonville Jaguars' quarterback David Garrard threw four picks (two by Antoine Cason) in a 38-13 loss to the San Diego Chargers.
Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers had three TD passes and 334 yards passing and the Chargers racked up 477 yards of total offense in the rout.
Philadelphia held off the Detroit Lions 35-32 as Michael Vick, filling in for injured quarterback Kevin Kolb, passed for two touchdowns to go with 284 yards passing and 37 yards rushing. Lions rookie running back Jahvid Best scored three touchdowns and also had 154 receiving yards and 78 rushing yards in the loss.
The Cincinnati Bengals beat the Baltimore Ravens, 15-10 as kicker Mike Nugent kicked five field goals for the victory. Baltimore managed only 259 yards of total offense and quarterback Joe Flacco was intercepted four times in the loss.
The Oakland Raiders held on for a 16-14 home win against the St. Louis Rams as the defense sacked Rams' rookie quarterback Sam Bradford three times. Oakland quarterback Bruce Gradkowski replaced starter Jason Campbell and threw a touchdown pass to Lou Murphy that helped to provide the difference.
Denver Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton threw two TD passes and has 307 passing yards in a 31-14 win over the visiting Seattle Seahawks. The Broncos' defense intercepted three passes in the win.
The Sunday Night game saw Peyton Manning win the "Manning Bowl" once again as the Indianapolis Colts throttled the New York Giants, 38-14.
Peyton Manning threw for 255 yards and three touchdowns while brother Eli Manning had 161 yards through the air, an interception and two TD passes in the loss.

NFL- Week Two Preview

The second week of the 2010 NFL season has some intriguing matchups.
The New England Patriots travel to play the New York Jets in the new Meadowlands Stadium in an early season battle that could set the tone for the AFC East race the rest of the season.
The Cincinnati Bengals host the Baltimore Ravens and need a win to prevent falling to 0-2 in the young season.
Miami travels to Minnesota to face Brett Favre and the Vikings while the Dallas Cowboys play their 2010 home opener against the Chicago Bears, who are thankful for the video replay booth and a quirky rule about possessing the football for a legal catch.
It promises to be another exciting week around the NFL, so here is a briefing on the games this Sunday and Monday night.

Arizona (1-0) at Atlanta (0-1)- The Cardinals travel to the Georgia Dome, where the Falcons will look to pound the ball with Michael Turner.

Baltimore (1-0) at Cincinnati (0-1)- The Bengals were beat down last week in New England and must rebound against the NFL's top defense to avoid an 0-2 start. TO & Ochocinco will be needed badly to win this one.

Kansas City (1-0) at Cleveland (0-1)- What's this? The Kansas City Chiefs alone in first place in the AFC West. It's a 16-game season boys, but the Chiefs will look to run on the Browns, who lost to the Buccaneers last week.

Pittsburgh (1-0) at Tennessee (1-0)- The Steelers, with Dennis Dixon at QB, will look to keep Titans' running back Chris Johnson in check, where they have had success in the last two games against the Titans. Tennessee QB Vince Young will be the key to this game.

Tampa Bay (1-0) at Carolina (0-1)- The Panthers were blown out in the second half against the Giants last week, so it stands to reason they will take it out against the Bucs... the undefeated Bucs.

Seattle (1-0) at Denver (0-1)- The Seahawks surprised the 49ers last week and Denver will be looking to air it out to win in this game.

St. Louis (0-1) at Oakland (0-1)- This was once the battle of Los Angeles, back in the 1980's.

New England (1-0) at New York Jets (0-1)- Tom Brady & company will look to rough up the mighty Jets and put some distance between them in this early season AFC East matchup. Hey Rex Ryan... how's your team doing? Just ask quarterback Mark Sanchez, or maybe not.

Jacksonville (1-0) at San Diego (0-1)- The Chargers are off to another slow start, but the Jaguars are feeling good coming into this one and San Diego cannot take them lightly in their 2010 home opener.

Houston (1-0) at Washington (1-0)- The Texans are going to the Super Bowl!
After beating the Colts, they sure believe... but the Redskins are also riding high after scalping the Cowboys in the season opener. Something has to give.

Philadelphia (0-1) at Detroit (0-1)- The Lions were robbed last week at Chicago while the re-birth of Michael Vick at quarterback was taking place for the Eagles. Will the Lions' PA system play the song, "Who Let The Dogs Out" during this game?

Buffalo (0-1) at Green Bay(1-0)-Seriously? The Bills stand as much chance of winning this one as the tea baggers have of winning all their U.S. Senate races. In other words, it ain't gonna happen.

Miami (1-0) at Minnesota (0-1)- Brett Favre and Vikings have their collective backs to the wall already and it's only Week Two. The Dolphins were lackluster last week in a win over Buffalo.

Chicago (1-0) at Dallas (0-1)- The Bears can remain in first place with a win and the Cowboys are struggling on offense. Keep Dallas owner Jerry Jones away from the sharp objects if the Bears pull this one out, which is possible.

New York Giants (1-0) at Indianapolis (0-1)- the Colts were humiliated at Houston last Sunday while the "other" Manning (Eli) threw for three scores in a win. That was last week and this game is on prime time Sunday night. Plus the game is in Indy, which is also known as "Peyton Place."

New Orleans (1-0) at San Francisco (0-1)- The MNF game to wrap up Week Two. The Saints should roll in this one and if they do, it will be fun to watch 49ers ultra-intense Head Coach Mike Singletary melting down on the sidelines.

This Week's Picks...

(Home teams listed in bold)

Atlanta over Arizona
Baltimore over Cincinnati
Kansas City over Cleveland
Tennessee over Pittsburgh
Carolina over Tampa Bay
Denver over Seattle
Oakland over St. Louis
New England over NY Jets
San Diego over Jacksonville
Washington over Houston
Dallas over Chicago
Philadelphia over Detroit
Minnesota over Miami
Green Bay over Buffalo
Indianapolis over NY Giants
New Orleans over San Francisco

NFL- Week One Review

The first weekend of the 2010 NFL season is in the books and there were some surprises around the league, but none more so than the Seattle Seahawks absolutely throttling the San Francisco 49ers, 31-6 in Seattle.
Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck had two touchdown passes and a touchdown run in an efficient game. The 49ers are expected to do big things in the NFC West this season and they struggled against the 'Hawks, who won the game in Pete Carroll's Head Coaching debut in Seattle.
The Houston Texans knocked off the Indianapolis Colts, 34-24 behind 231 yards rushing and three touchdowns by Arian Foster, this week's Heftyinfo Player of the Week.
The New England Patriots showed they are still the team to beat in the AFC East as they shellacked the Cincinnati Bengals, 38-24 as Tom Brady threw for 258 yards and three touchdowns, including two to Wes Welker, who is coming back from a serious knee injury suffered late last season.
Pittsburgh got off to a good start, winning 15-9 as Rashard Mendenhall rumbled 50 yards for the winning touchdown in overtime against the Atlanta Falcons. The Steelers are without starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger until the fifth game of the season due to a suspension.
The Chicago Bears caught a break when Detroit wide receiver Calvin Johnson's touchdown catch was overturned in the closing seconds, when it was ruled the ball hit the ground and he didn't maintain control in the end zone of a 19-14 win for the Bears.
The Green Bay Packers rolled to a 27-20 win over Philadelphia as Aaron Rodgers passed for two touchdowns and the defense held Michael Vick (in for the injured starting QB Kevin Kolb) late in the game to secure the win. Vick passed for 175 yards and ran for another 103 yards in the loss, which sparked a quarterback controversy between him and Kolb (5 of 10 for just 24 yards before suffering a concussion) as to who should be the starter for the Eagles.
Tennessee served notice in the AFC South that the Colts and Texans aren't the only contenders in 2010 as they crushed Oakland, 38-13 behind two touchdown runs (including a 76 yard TD) by Chris Johnson, who finished with 142 yards in the game and Vince Young, who threw for 154 yards and connected with Nate Washington on a 56 yard touchdown pass to give the Titans a lead they would not relinquish.
In other games...
The Miami Dolphins topped the lowly Buffalo Bills, 15-10 behind 132 rushing yards from Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown, who scored a one-yard TD for the Dolphins... Arizona got a late TD pass from new quarterback Derek Anderson to Larry Fitzgerald to hold off the stubborn St. Louis Rams, 17-13. Rams rookie QB Sam Bradford had 253 yards passing and a touchdown pass, but also threw three interceptions in the loss...
Jacksonville knocked off Denver, 24-17 as David Garrard threw for three TDs in the win... In the yawner of the week, Tampa Bay beat Cleveland, 17-14 behind a pair of TD strikes from quarterback Josh Freeman... The 'other' Manning, Eli Manning threw for three TDs and Ahmad Bradshaw ran for another score as the New York Giants beat down the Carolina Panthers, 31-18...
And finally, the Monday Night Football double header saw the Kansas City Chiefs shock the San Diego Chargers, 21-14 in the night cap behind a 94-yard punt return by rookie Dexter McCluster to go along with a 56 yard rushing touchdown by Jamaal Charles. San Diego outgained the Chiefs, 404-197 in total yardage, but QB Philip Rivers (298 yards passing with two TD) couldn't get it done late from the KC 4-yard line as the Chiefs defense stood tall...
The Baltimore Ravens humbled the New York Jets in the MNF opener as Willis McGahee scored the game's only touchdown on a one-yard run in a 10-9 victory that saw the Jets muster only six first downs for the game while racking up 125 yards on 14 penalties.

Notables from Week One: Green Bay running back Ryan Grant is gone for the season after suffering a severe ankle injury and the New York Jets' defensive lineman Kris Jenkins is out for the season as well after suffering a torn ACL in the Monday night game.
The New England Patriots traded running back Laurence Maroney to the Denver Broncos for future draft picks.

IT'S FOOTBALL TIME

Get ready for the 2010 NFL season as thirteen games go today and a double header tomorrow night.
The New Orleans Saints started off right in their defense of their Super Bowl title by beating Minnesota, 14-9 in the Thursday night opener in the Superdome.
The game was surprisingly low scoring between two teams that led the NFL is putting up points a year ago.
Look for possibly more of the same today as defense will likely dominate the first week.
In Pittsburgh, the Steelers look to get back to the basics of playing good, solid defense and running the football against the Atlanta Falcons. Of course, they will be without quarterback Ben Roethlisberger for the first four games as he serves a league disciplinary suspension.
The Cincinnati Bengals travel to New England and play the once mighty Patriots and quarterback Tom Brady. The Bengals have a dynamic duo in wide receivers Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens in 2010 and are also counting on another strong defensive effort this season.
The Houston Texans host the Colts and would like to finally get over the hump and knock off the Colts, a team they have beaten only one time in eight years.
The amped up offense of the Green Bay Packers, with emerging superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers, travels to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles, who have a new quarterback as Donovan McNabb was traded to the Washington Redskins. Kevin Kolb gets the start at QB for Philly.
The Redskins will host the Dallas Cowboys on the Sunday Night Football game as they seek to get back to the post-season. Tony Romo and the Cowboys have a lot of pressure as they seek to become the first ever team to play in the Super Bowl in their own stadium.
There should be a lot of excitement this weekend as the season gets rolling and on Monday night it wraps up with two very hyped teams as the New York Jets and their loud mouthed Head Coach Rex Ryan host the Baltimore Ravens in the new Meadowlands Stadium.
Week One winners should be...
Bears, Titans, Dolphins, Steelers, Broncos, Colts, Giants, Patriots, Bucs, Cardinals, 49ers, Packers, Cowboys, Ravens and Chargers.
Get ready, get set... here we go.

Message to GOP: This Ain't No Joke

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Wake Up People!

Let's talk about real issues people.
For crying out loud, we have a mid-term election coming up in less than two months and all the media is talking about is some bone-headed pastor whose very own congregation kicked him out of his own church in Germany.
Who gives a (expletive) about this whack job in Florida who has said he will burn Qurans if the proposed Muslim community center is built in New York City two blocks from Ground Zero.
The mid-terms are far more important than this fluff the media constantly spews out to the viewing public.
The choices people face in the election will impact their lives much more than some nut cases burning books in Florida.
Get with it people and boycott the crap the corporate controlled media throws at you to DISTRACT YOU from the REAL ISSUES FACING YOU!
After all, what are we becoming... a nation of idiots!
It sure seems that way.

Quran Burning Pastor Terry Jones Outed as Fraud

Chicago's Mayor Daley not running for re-election: Good Riddance!

See Ya!
Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!
Chicago's Mayor Richard M. Daley is not going to seek a seventh term as Mayor of Chicago.
The writing is on the wall and he knows it, which is precisely why he is not going to run for re-election in 2011.
The people of Chicago are fed up with the Daley Administration and the George W. Bush-like privatization tactics he has been implementing in the Windy City over the years.
Privatizing things such as parking meters and airports (which failed by the way at Chicago's Midway Airport) does not work.
The people of Chicago have become disenchanted with Daley and he knows it.
In particular, the workers' unions (organized labor) in the city of Chicago have not been real happy with him in recent history either.
Daley has been pretty much anti-union in his rhetoric and the way he wants to privatize everything and then make the workers give and give and give and then give some more.
Mayor Daley, good riddance to you.
Thank you for "retiring" and don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out of City Hall!

LABOR DAY- A Holiday for American Workers

This is how to deal with the Republicans and their Wall Street/corporate masters!
This is the year 2010 and 74 years ago, the GOP was pulling the same old crap along with the corporations and the corrupt Wall Street brokers to undermine the working people of the United States of America.
President Obama needs to talk this way and lay the hammer down on these unscrupulous politicians who cater to the corporate agenda and ignore the American people and their well being.

This is definitely worth a listen for those people who truly care about the United States of America... NOT the corporate agenda, who could give a rat's ass about the future of this country so long as they continue to get their fat bonuses at the expense of American workers' jobs.

Have A Great Labor Day Weekend

A Labor Day message for all the hard working Americans in this great land of ours.

Insanity

How different is our country as we keep listening to the repeated propaganda being bantered by the extremists on the right about how bad it is for the United States of America when they in fact made the mess by conforming to corporate influences.
A definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over and expecting different results.
So why would people of this country want to go back to what the corporate "masters" want you to believe?
Because the people knocked out of power by We The People are drunk on power and cannot stand being out of it in Washington, D.C.
This is a reflection of how those following this propaganda are... the fear mongers sound the alarms and the people blindly obey what they are constantly told by the masters of the propaganda, particularly on the master right wing sound machine ... Fox Channel.
If a lie is repeated often enough, people eventually believe it.
In a sense, because of the right wing propaganda machine, We The People are not that far from what happens in this movie clip.

NFL 2010- Week One Preview

The 2010 NFL season kicks off Thursday night with a rematch of last season's NFC Championship Game between the Minnesota Vikings and the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints.
Brett Favre is back for a 20th NFL season and the 40-year old veteran quarterback would like nothing better than to exact some revenge on the Saints after the disappointing loss for the Vikings. The Saints won in overtime, 31-28.
Drew Brees had a dream season at quarterback for New Orleans last year and the team is looking for a repeat performance in 2010.
The game will be played in the Super Dome where the Saints are always tough, especially with their high powered offense.
The first week of the season always brings some surprises. Remember last year when the Denver Broncos beat Cincinnati in the closing seconds on a deflected pass that Brandon Stokley hauled in and raced for a touchdown.

Don't Believe The Hype

The political pundits in cable news have been telling Americans for nearly a year now that the Republican party is going to make SIGNIFICANT GAINS in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.
Really?
Don't believe the hype.
Here's why...

1. The GOP is the main reason for the economic calamity this country is currently experiencing.

Need proof?

Well, for starters, Ronald Reagan, the patron saint of the conservative movement, came into office in 1981 and it was his tax cuts for the wealthiest people of this land that started everything.
The trickle down theory DOES NOT WORK!
George Bush Sr. then had a four-year term after Reagan and he was defeated by Bill Clinton, a Democrat, who is equal to blame with the "corporate mentality" that a lot of our political representatives seem to have.
While Clinton left a surplus upon leaving office, his administration pushed through the God forsaken policy of NAFTA and the WTO that our country entered into.
Big mistakes.
Of course, a lot of politicians are bought and paid for by Washington, D.C. lobbyists and special interests which leads to policies that benefit multi-national corporations but SCREW THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.
Most recently, Bush Jr. and Cheney came into the White House after the infamous 2000 election and gave yet another tax cut to the wealthiest people of this land.
Again, the trickle down theory DOES NOT WORK!
The point is that the Republicans are counting on the American people (VOTERS) being stupid and not remembering any of the past eight years prior to President Obama taking office in 2009.

2. Republicans are the party of NO!

All the GOP has done for the past two years after being swept in the historic 2008 elections, is obstruct... obstruct... and obstruct some more.

For example, U.S. Senator Jim DeMint of South Carolina called for the defeat of the health care reform bill as being Barack Obama's "Waterloo."
Wrong!
Healthy care passed last spring and the GOP is already vowing to repeal it IF they can just get back the majority in the House and/or Senate.
Wrong again...
The 'x' factor being that President Obama has the power of the veto pen and whatever the Republican party wishes to do IF they achieve their goal, would be struck down by Obama.
The GOP has done NOTHING to help small businesses and they continually stall and block legislation in the Senate (and House) that would help the American people and then they expect to get our votes?
Screw you!
One hand is supposed to wash the other, but these people that represent the rich, corporate agenda (aka the Republican party) continue to mount their claim that they should be put back in power in the U.S. Congress and some of them even work for the Fox Channel.
The Fox Channel- you know them... Fox "News." We Distort. You Comply.
The GOP was in the majority when the Bush tax cuts went into effect in 2001 and they installed the "sunset" provision that allows said tax cuts to expire after 10 years.
Here we are at the 10 year point and the GOP is constantly drumming it up that President Obama is "raising taxes".
No ... he is NOT raising taxes.
Fact is the tax cuts are do to expire and that is what will happen and then (FINALLY) the richest two percent of the people who call themselves American citizens will have to pay their fair share.

3. The GOP is on the wrong sides of the real issues facing Americans.

The GOP and their "tea party" brothers and sisters are funded by the corporate lobbyists (Freedom Works, Koch Industries, etc.) pretty much name any right wing agenda you care to and for the most part they are the ones who are behind the "teabaggers" movement.
What this all means of course is that they want to take this country back to the past and the failed policies of the right wing agenda.
In short what these people want is a two-class system and they have been preying upon the fears of the "average" citizen of this country to be the front for their bogus agenda.
They prey upon misinformed voters.
The fact is that people want jobs and the security they knew and were accustomed to while living their lives in the United States of America prior to the corporate/Wall Street take over of the U.S. government which led to the financial meltdown two years ago.
Remember that?
Problem is (mostly) the GOP is in bed with the corporations that OUTSOURCE Americans' jobs overseas and then expect tax breaks for doing this.
Of course, the political suck-ups oblige and the rich get richer and the hell with the rest of us.
The GOP and the right is counting on the American people to be stupid come November when they step into the voting booth.

. . .

It's really sad because the Fox Channel gets a ton of viewers and all they are is a right wing propaganda mouth piece.
The only evidence one needs is that Fox's owner Rupert Murdoch's company gave one million dollars to the Republican Governor's Association.
WTF?
A "news" channel is not to engage in that sort of activity.
Period!
There is NO defending that conduct and that is just more proof that the right wing and their corporate cohorts are hell bent on having their own way... the United States of America be damned.

Some of us still have faith in the American people not to fall prey to these fear mongers and hate mongers on the right that back the corporate/Wall Street agenda.

Granted, the Democratic party is the majority in D.C. and that almost always means losses in a mid-term election as far as numbers go.
But don't believe the hype by the corporate controlled media that Republicans ARE going to regain the majority in the House and possibly the Senate.
It AIN'T gonna happen!
The call here is for the GOP to pick up perhaps 20 seats in the U.S. House, which is half of what they need to regain the majority.
In the U.S. Senate, look for the GOP at the most to gain four or perhaps five seats.
Whether you are a Republican or Democratic supporter, right wing or left doesn't matter... you have your own thoughts on these political matters and the effects they will have on millions of Americans' lives, including your own.
But I dare say it, the GOP will not (repeat) WILL NOT take back the House or Senate in the 2010 mid-term elections...

Check back here in November when all the votes have been counted.

Until then, just do your part and get out the vote!
