Our hats are off to...

Kudos to U.S. House Representative Alan Grayson (D-FL, 8th District) for having the tenacity to say what is not only what and how he feels about current issues, but also for speaking the absolute truth regarding the Republicans in Congress and their views toward health care reform in America.

Grayson (pictured above right) is a breath of fresh air in what has become a stale debate over the health care issue in both the House and Senate and we need more people like him representing the American people, who have become nothing more than fodder for the corporations and the GOP (and also some corporate shillling Dems) in this 21st century.

How about the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints, both at one time laughing stocks of the NFL, going at it this weekend with perfect 3-0 records in the young football season.

Good for Rio De Janeiro getting the 2016 Olympic Summer Games bid... wish it would have been the United States and Chicago (where I am from) but that's the way things go sometimes.

Many thanks to Keith Olbermann of MSNBC's "Countdown" fame... he is a tireless working journalist (yes, they still do exist) who goes after the right wing and their lunacy as well as calling out lefty loons. Here's to ya' Keith O.

Joe Paterno is a class act in NCAA Football, who not only is the sports all-time winningest coach, but a guy who does not run up scores in this day and age of ego-driven mad men storming the collegiate sidelines.

The FBI did their job and nailed the creepy pervert who was the one spying on ESPN reporter Erin Andrews through peepholes and videotaping the whole thing before posting it on Youtube last summer... good going guys and I hope this guy gets what he deserves because invasion of privacy is not good... now if only they could nail the former Bush Administration for also invading people's privacy with the illegal wiretapping of phones.

You have to respect the Minnesota Twins baseball team for not quitting and they trail the Detroit Tigers by just one game (with two games to go as of this post) in the American League Central division... just last year the Twins dropped a one game playoff to the Chicago White Sox and missed the post-season.

The NFL will honor Breast Cancer Awareness and one player (to our knowledge) who will don pink football cleats in Sunday's action will be San Diego Chargers' wide receiver Vincent Jackson... good for him and for the fight against breast cancer.

All those brave men and women over seas in the Middle East and Afghanistan... here's hoping President Obama is not coerced into sending more troops and keeping those already there for any extended period of time... it has long been time to "bring 'em home."

Believe it or not, Rush Limbaugh... the portly one from Florida recently chastised psychotic talk show host Glenn Beck for his sheer lunacy on his TV program on Fox Channel as well as his radio show.

Coming full circle, once again our hats are off to U.S. House Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL, 8th District) for not caving (as so many fellow Democratic reps do) to the GOP after they demanded he apologize for saying the "Republicans health care plan is for people to simply don't get sick and if you do, then die quickly."
Grayson stood firm and apologized to the dead and the American people for the inaction of Congress to enact health care reform sooner so that 45,000 plus people do not have to die needlessly because of lack of health care coverage each year.

Until next time, take care and God Bless you all!
