NFL - Week Two Review

The two big matchups in the NFL this weekend did not disappoint, although the rest of the action throughout the league in Week Two was extremely exciting.
The New England Patriots pulled away late from the visiting San Diego Chargers, who committed four turnovers in a 35-21 final score for the Pats.
Philadelphia Eagles' quarterback Michael Vick left his team's 35-31 loss to the host Atlanta Falcons in the third quarter with a concussion after colliding with a teammate. Falcons' QB Matt Ryan (four TD passes) and running back Michael Turner (114 rushing yards and two TD) led the way for the comeback win.

The New Orleans Saints gave the visiting Chicago Bears a slice of humble pie in a 30-13 rout in the Big Easy while the Buffalo Bills delivered a huge comeback win over the visiting Oakland Raiders, 38-35 to improve to 2-0 and a first place tie with the New York Jets and Patriots in the AFC East.
How about Tony Romo, the Dallas Cowboys' QB, rebounding after blowing the game against the Jets in Week One? Romo (345 yards and two TD passes) came back and played the final part of the game with  fractured ribs as Dallas rallied to beat the host San Francisco 49ers, 27-24 in overtime.

Other highlights from Week Two included the Pittsburgh Steelers dominating the visiting Seattle Seahawks, 24-0 behind solid defense and a good game from QB Ben Roethlisberger, who left the game briefly with an injury. The Steelers, which had seven turnovers in a loss to Baltimore last week, committed none in this game ... The Green Bay Packers rallied in the second half to stave off a huge upset bid by host Carolina and rookie QB Cam Newton in a 30-23 win ... Denver, behind two touchdown passes from QB Kyle Orton, beat back the visiting Cincinnati Bengals, 24-22 ...  Cleveland got two rushing TD from Peyton Hillis and defeated the host Indianapolis Colts, 27-19 ... The Houston Texans knocked off host Miami, 23-13 as Ben Tate ran for over 100 yards and Matt Schaub threw two TD passes ... The Minnesota Vikings, playing in the Metro Dome for the first time since the roof collapsed last December in a snowstorm, blew a 17-0 halftime advantage and lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 24-20 as LeGarrette Blount ran for two scores to key the win for Tampa Bay ... The Detroit Lions are back in a big way as they thoroughly crushed the Kansas City Chiefs, 48-3 to the delight of a raucous crowd in Motown as QB Matthew Stafford

Washington beat Arizona, 22-21 in the nation's capitol in a see saw battle that saw Redskins' QB Rex Grossman throw a touchdown pass to Santana Moss in the fourth quarter and Graham Gano kick the game winning field goal with less than two minutes remaining ... The New York Jets strolled to an easy win over hapless Jacksonville in the Meadowlands Stadium, 32-3 as the defense intercepted four passes and limited the Jaguars' to 203 yards in offense ... The Tennessee Titans pulled off the surprise win of Week Two with a 26-13 beat down over the visiting Baltimore Ravens as QB Matt Hasselbeck passed for 358 yards against the Ravens' defense. The Titans' defense limited Baltimore's vaunted ground game to just 45 yards and forced three turnovers in the game.
The New York Giants beat the visiting St. Louis Rams, 28-16 in the Monday Night Football game as QB Eli Manning threw two touchdown passes and Michael Boley returned a fumble 65 yards for another score to pace the win.
